Our Neighborhood Commitments
Our commitment and our philosophy is expressed in our credo: A Diverse community, Preserving our past, Promoting our future. The Brady Heights Neighborhood Association is an active, highly motivated, and forward thinking group dedicated to the preservation of our existing housing stock; and promoting sensitive development in a neighborhood that is literally a Tulsa treasure.
A Diverse Community
- A rich mix of young and old, traditional and non-traditional families, couples, and single people;
- A socio-economic mix that ranges from physicians to elderly on fixed incomes; and
- Ethnic diversity including African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian, and Caucasian residents.
Preserving our Past
- Helping neighbors mow yards, paint homes, fix retaining walls, and other acts of kindness for our elderly residents and neighbors; and
- Preserving the architectural design of our older homes, thus maintaining the neighborhood's "earlier time" atmosphere through its recently-approved Historic Preservation Zoning District.
Promoting our Future
Using the Historic Preservation Zoning District as a tool, the Brady Heights Neighborhood Association:
- Ensures that new homes built on vacant lots "complement" the historic nature of our neighborhood;
- Forms partnerships with government agencies, banks, builders, realtors, appraisers, architects, and other development partners to preserve the ambiance of our Neighborhood for years to come; and continues "neighbor-to-neighbor" connections by having monthly meetings, publishing a monthly newsletter, and Promoting other networking events to promote a sense of neighborhood among Brady Heights residents.
